Film and Media Studies Horror Podcast
The semester is starting to wind down, so I've been really busy lately. So, since I'm not able to really play a video game or watch a movie on my own time to write about, I figured I would upload this podcast that I recorded for class.
One of my film studies classes, "Horror, Gender, Race and Identity," asked us to get together in groups and record three podcast episodes connecting horror movies with the readings and issues we discuss in class. We recorded an episode a couple weeks ago where we discussed The Shining, but it didn't turn out very well, so in this episode we revisit The Shining (1980), while also discussing The Amityville Horror (1979) and trying to connect them through our discussion.
This is my first time doing a podcast! It definitely sounds pretty amateur, but I really enjoyed recording and editing. We recorded with three mics, but recorded in a single-channel session, so some of the levels and transitions are weird. That being said, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out for a first time project.
Thanks for listening, and happy Friday the 13th!
